Megan is a native of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, which is about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh.  Megan began riding lessons when she was 6 years old.  While training at Dutch Manor Stables in Guilderland, NY, Megan began competing in hunters at the age of 8.  As a "Navy-brat," moving around gave Megan exposure to many different training styles and allowed Megan to gain experience riding many different types of horses.  Into high school, Megan competed in 4-H and AQHA Hunters.  She attended Saint Vincent College and graduated with Bachelors Degree in English in 2001.  In 2002, Megan married her husband Rick and assumed military life once again.  While stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, Megan acquired a very talented, very difficult registered Quarter Horse hunter, Catch the Jet.  After considerable time, patience, and training, Megan turned him into a true force to be reckoned with in the show ring.  Because of the training issues Megan acquired with Catch the Jet, she took her first dressage lesson and never looked back.  She was hooked.  In 2004, by the grace of her very supportive husband, Megan purchased a 10 month old Oldenburg gelding, Guillaume CRR (aka Wilz) out of Graf Top II.  Megan worked with Wilz from the minute he arrived, started him at the age of 3, and successfully competed him in dressage. While this was going on, Megan moved to Jackson, Tennessee where she and Rick started their family.  They are the proud parents of two daughters.  While in Jackson, Megan was also an English Teacher and Track Coach at South Side High School and taught riding lessons while training and showing several horses. Megan's students, both people and horses, have competed successfully in both dressage and hunters. This past December, Megan sold Wilz and purchased a 4-year old Friesian, Wybren fan 'e Hameren (aka Denali) out of Weird 409.  This new adventure came in time for their move to the greater Cincinnati area.  Megan will be competing Denali in First Level this year.  She also has an 11-year old Dutch Warmblood, Alex, who, after being a jumper, is starting his new career in dressage.  Look for them in the show ring!!!!
